Local Bookshops

13-15 Eastgate St, Gloucester GL1 1NS, UK – 01452 422464

Excellent store with lots of books, very beautifully presented. Evokes a deeps 90's feeling of what a book store used to be. Hours of browsing, meeting friends or just sitting on the sofa and reading a good book. The staff are friendly and not in your face, a handy cafe on the first floor over looking the store front adds to the excellent location. Highly recommended to all.

If you love books, you love this place. Very friendly, very helpful staff, I got some great ideas for new books and a new direction in reading. First class, and they have lovely gifts and games.

Book Depository

INDUSTRIAL ESTATE, Goodridge Ave, Gloucester GL2 5EB, UK – 01452 307905

I can’t rate book depository highly enough! I’d say about 90% of my online shopping budget goes to these guys, and for good reason! I love books! And living in Australia where we pay a premium, I am more than happy to wait the 7-10 days for delivery of perfect copies to my home address. Free postage is an absolute bonus as well! The cost of the books tend to be around a third of the cost in bookstores so it’s incredible value for money, which ultimately means more money for more books! 🤓 I sadly only discovered this awesome company around 2 years ago, but have recommended to many friends and family, as well as in online forums and fb groups. The best thing is ordering a stash of new books and then awaiting their delivery! They tend to ship once each title is available, so for multiple books, this can mean any number of separate deliveries (the longest I’ve had to wait is 2 weeks after ordering to our metro Brisbane address) It’s like Christmas throughout the year, beautiful little bundles of brown or white treats! Their customer service is also second to none, and extremely quick to respond. I have had a couple of issues with past orders - usually me being a pain and realising I didn’t want a book after hitting the confirm button, but book depository are always very helpful in cancelling and offering refunds when needed. Our recent order of 10 books, ordered in time for Christmas delivery - about 7 arrived prior to Christmas which is awesome! Thank you Book Depository, and keep up the great work, really appreciate having your awesome service at my fingertips!
