Lovely course, challenging, great greens despite dry weather, friendly staff, fantastic food at a good price. Nice touches like hole layout diagrams at each tee and rocks for 150yd markers on each hole. Thoroughly enjoyed playing here for the first time. Stunning downhill 18th.
Great value course owned by members(?) and deserving of a visit. Mature course with some long holes and plenty of slopes/hills creating a real challenge especially on the back 9. Hole 13 creates a particular challenge with the green being raised and not only a long way from the tee but also effectively right then right again ... not simply a dog leg! When I played it was very dry (although windy) and the greens were fast (and true) BUT with many being raised and having a camber, it was not easy to get an approach shot to "hold". Without a buggy it's a tiring 18 but well worth the effort.

As a woman in my mid 40's, overweight & unfit, I was really apprehensive about joining the Forma classes. But as I hurt my back last year, I was pretty determined to find an exercise that I would enjoy enough to keep going. Regular gym wasn't doing it for me, but Forma has been fantastic! I've been going for 4 months, and I've seen real significant changes in my strength & my body. No more back pain! And being able to do handstands is so much fun. Even if you don't think it's for you - give it a try. The instructors are welcoming & know how to adapt exercises to suit you. I've found the exercise that will stick, and I know I'll get stronger & more flexible every month.
Best thing I ever did was start this membership. I'm fitter, stronger and more flexible and loving how my body feels and looks. Great instructors and everyone is so friendly and supportive. Can't imagine not doing gymnastics now. 7 months in and my goals are getting closer.

Good gym equipment is a bit limited but it isn't a body builder gym after all, Gym feels very cramped. swimming pool designated into lanes so good for if you want to swim for excercise. Love the Spa
Nice modern sports centre, well located in central Gloucester. Use this a lot for family swimming and with 4 pools (all not available at the same time) it rarely feels too busy. The tad pool is great for small children but is quickly out grown. The Barton pool (largest of the 4) is often used for fun sessions with floats and inflatable, however the Barton pool is insufficiently heated to point of being near dangerous and usually unbearable. Transitioning from one pool to another is done so with a risk of mild hypothermia due to open nature of communal changing area and the proximity of the open doors. Measures have been taken to improve the cleanliness of the pools and poolside areas however there appears to be a lack of staffing or pride in showcasing what could be an excellent facility.

Beer choice not too good but the Guinness is tasty and they do Stowford Press. Cheap too.

Small gym area can get very busy at peak times. Basic weights and usual gym equipment. Courts are popular for local badminton groups and other indoor sport. Good clean facilities and fitness classes with reasonable membership prices.
A well stocked gym with enough machines and weights to have full workout .fair monthly fee and reasonable pay as you go rate. Only down side it is on the small side and doesn't open until 5pm weekdays
